Day 5

Got up early again, another hot and humid day! Grabbed some coffee and juice for breakfast, and started getting everything packed up. Definatly need to do laundry again soon, which won't be a problem in Merida. Met Mom and Paige in the lobby and sent them off to the airport, they're trying to leave around 12:30. Hopefully they can get on their flights! Taxi ride to the airport is $300 pesos or around $26 MXN for both of them.

Finished packing and checked out of the hotel, and ended up back on the R-1 public bus which takes you to pretty much right to the ADO coach bus station, same place the airport bus dropped me off last Tuesday. Found a ATM machine to get some more cash since I'm running low. I'm glad my card worked just fine, need to pay for the next place in cash.

Purchased my bus ticket for the noon bus right around 11:30am, there's lots of seats available. The ride there costs $256 MXN. This is a first-class air-conditioned coach with a bathroom and comfty reclining seats. The 4 hour / 177mi trip across the peninsula costs less than my Mom and sisters taxi ride to the airport.
